Nehr-e-Zubaidah
Nehr-e-Zubaidah, the blue symbolizes the water, and the floral patterns represent the gardens and foliage that the canal gave life. This enchanting piece is a navy blue velvet kaftan, hand-embroidered with intricate naqshi, dabka, pearls, resham, and iridescent beads. It pays homage to Zubaida’s majestic garden of exotic flowers, birds, and mesmerizing blend.
The two paisleys symbolize 800 CE Iraq; legend has that the paisley originated from Ancient Babylon, in present-day Iraq.
Nehr-e-Zubaidah is a straight Kaftan. The work is exclusively hand embroidered.
